Easy Books

As a sole proprietor my bookkeeping needs aren't huge, but this is plenty to see how my money is working out, who hasn't paid an invoice yet, and track everything I need for GST reporting.

This is the best app I have ever used.
I run 2 complete sets of books for two completely different types of businesses and it copes with everything.
I use all of the features including time tracking, invoicing and GST reporting and there is nothing I can't do.
The best thing is that you can do everything anywhere anytime you have a spare couple of minutes.
I haven't written a review before but these guys deserve praise for a great app and really good customer support.

Best accounting software I've tried! Easily backs up to my iPad via email. So easy. Worth every star!!!

This is the first app I have bothered to review - because it's that good…

Since commencing business in 2001, I have used MYOB and found it too cumbersome (and expensive), moved to MS Excel spreadsheets; and now to Easybooks. The shift was prompted by wanting a portable solution to run on iPad.

Easybooks is proving to be a bit of a gem. The more I use it the happier I am about moving to it. I run cash-based accounting, but the app is equally good for accrual. I spend less time inputing transactions than for MYOB or spreadsheets which is my main bugbear, and the data backs-up to iTunes with a date stamp and/or by email. I have tried restoring from backups and am happy with reliability and stability.

At present I do not subscribe to the online syncing service, but will reconsider when the mac version is released (due January 2012). You would need to subscribe to online syncing if you use more than 1 iDevice ($31.99 for 6 months, secure but steep), so that changes from each device are merged. I don't need it and like to keep subs costs to minimum.

Reports are adequate, all I need. Would like to be able to customise reports in future mac version. Would also be good if transactions could be imported from file in mac version. I think if these 2 features are included then I would be close to iHeaven.

After years of frustration with cumbersome accounting software along comes EasyBooks. So pared down and simple, it's great for my small business. Excellent swift response to a request for smaller sized .pdf receipts for emailing - thank you! All I need now is the promised Mac version (hint hint)

Now I have my own personal accountant in my pocket.
Very easy to use, saved me lots of time and you know it, that's money.
Also, I needed some help with the app and the help was right there at lightning speed when requested. Well done!!!

This app is exactly what I was after! Only thing that irks me a little is the order of the date, i would love the day before the month..perhaps it's an Aussie thing. Other than that quirky complaint it is an excellent app! I Will be upgrading to the full version of transactions once my 120 free quota has been reached! May even pay for the invoices, they are rather snazzy.

Easy to use and I don't know much about accounting. If I could suggest when entering a transaction, having a chosen GST as a selected default instead of having to select it every time would be great. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

Really makes keeping accounts in order a sich! Easy to use and very functional.

A word to the authors; if you can include a transaction search it would be great. Save a lot of time trying to find transactions when they get to a large data base.

Also if you had suggestive entties when typing in descriptions it would make life easier, eg. Typing in "Transfer" a hundred times over is a pain. It should keep a record of previous descriptions and suggest accordingly as the user starts to type.

Otherwise a fantastic app.

I have tried some of the few double-entry accounting apps and this has proven the best for me. I can maintain different sets of books for different entities and it has good entry features and excellent reporting.

The fact you need to pay more for extra transactions and other features will turn off some potential buyers but the pricing is reasonable for what you get.

I conjecture that the several one-star ratings for the app are a reflection of a lack of understanding of proper bookkeeping, as it is more than difficult to relate such a rating to the application itself. If you understand the subject, this app is the one.

Easy Books is great! I use this app for when I'm on the road or out of the office and it works like a charm. One of the best bookkeeping apps I've used from iTunes. Love it!!
