We provide a support service for Easy Books via the Support link on the web site. This covers things like how to use the app itself, billing and account recovery, a knowledge base of common questions and a mechanism to report bugs.
But we often receive questions that are we are unable to help with. Typically this is because the question relates to accountancy itself, such as "I have purchased a computer for my business, but it didn't affect my profit" or "how do I run the balance sheet over a range of dates?". Simple misunderstandings about the basics of accountancy might have massive consequences later on when it comes time to deal with the end of year accounts. So having a good understanding about what's happening in the accounts and how best to set them up is time well spent. For people who want to go it alone and avoid using an accountant altogether, we recommend a book by Anthony Rice called "Accounts Demystified" (available from Amazon). It's an excellent introduction to accounting.
But we also highly recommend speaking to an accountant, even if only initially. A trained accountant can do things we can't, such as offer advice on how to save money, how to better structure your accounts and how to fix problems if you get into a mess!
The following is a short list of accountants, all based here in UK who know and use Easy Books. Using the sharing feature of our Online Sync service, they can view and edit your accounts "live". This means they can sort out any problems you might have, correct any errors, handle your VAT returns and manage your end of year accounts. Note that the accountants listed will charge for their time, this is not part of the Easy Books support service.
Sharing your data is a supported feature in Easy Books, see Sharing your data. You can share any businesses you want with another Sync user. However, note you should never share your password with anyone.
As time goes on we may add to this list or even create a system to list accountants local to you no matter where you are. If you are an accountant yourself and use Easy Books, please get in touch if you would like to be included.
